Ingredients
-
- 8 fresh figs (firm)
- 8 thin slices of a goat cheese log (or 8 tsp fresh goat cheese)
- 2 tbsp walnuts, chopped
- fresh chives
- freshly ground salt and pepper
- 4 tbsp runny honey (to taste)
- Wash and pat dry the figs. Cut 8 thin slices into the goat cheese log.
- Slice off the fig stems. Then cross-cut each fig half way through, open up with the tip of a knife and insert a slice of goat cheese (or a tsp of fresh cheese) into the heart of each fig.
- Lightly oil your Aperitivo Appetizer Platter and place the stuffed figs on top.
- Chop the walnuts and sprinkle on top of the cheese. Top off with a dap of honey. Add freshly ground salt and pepper.
- Finely chop the fresh chives and sprinkle over the stuffed figs.
- Place the Aperitivo platter in the oven at 210°C/400°F and bake for 5-7 minutes.
- Take the Appetizer Platter out of the oven, and serve the warm, roasted stuffed figs directly on it.
Tips
You can also roll a strip of prosciutto ham around each fig
The goat cheese can be replaced with strained ricotta cheese.
You may use other nuts or seeds to your taste: pistachio, pine nuts, pumpkin seeds
