Baguette Baker

How to get the best results from your Baguette Baker

Your Baguette Baker allows you to make three light, crispy baguettes.

Preparation and cooking

Prepare your dough and leave to rise in a covered kitchen bowl, protected from any draughts. You can bake up to 3 baguettes weighing up to 160g / 5 1/2 oz each, which is the equivalent of 380g / 3/4 lb of fl our for the 3 baguettes.

Having risen for the first time, knead the dough again and divide it into 3 parts.  Make your baguette shapes, place into the holes provided and cover with the lid.

When using the dish for the first few times, make sure you sprinkle quite a lot of flour liberally over the surface. Ceramic naturally becomes non-stick over time, but your bread may stick to start off with.

Leave the dough to rise again. Always let the dough rise for the precise time indicated in the recipes. If you let it rise for too long, the dough will rise too much and the yeast will be tired.

Just before cooking, make rapid, smooth incisions in the surface using a baker's blade. These incisions allow the baguettes to rise, giving them a traditional look

Place the closed Baguette Baker in a pre-heated oven - generally at 240°C / 460°F

The Baguette Baker maintains a perfect humidity rate during cooking. There is no need to do anything while cooking.

Once cooked, you can remove the lid and leave the baguettes in the oven to brown a little. Once removed from the oven, leave to cool without the lid so that the crust remains crispy.

Instruction for use

Before you use it for the first time, remove all the labels from the product, if necessary using a mild detergent, then clean carefully.

The Baguette Baker is for use in the oven only. Its lid made of refractory ceramic creates the ideal humidity rate while the bread is cooking, and the holes allow the carbon dioxide to escape.

Do not use on the stove top or on any other source of direct heat.

When the dish is hot, do not place it in contact with anything cold, such as cold water or a cold surface. When you take it out of the oven, place it on a neutral surface, such as wooden board or cloth.

If, when cleaning it, you find that some residue will not come off, soak it in hot water and white vinegar before placing in the dishwasher.
